Our Farming Principles

Our Farming Principles

Organic

We are certified organic, and go beyond our organic requirements. We aim to foster an ecosystem full of habitat for beneficial insects. Healthy soils make resilient plants that need less intervention. (Certified by OEFFA and Real Organic Project)

Green

Sustainability is our goal, we farm using minimal single-use plastic, unheated growing spaces, and minimal fuel usage.

Solar panels power our farm.

Regenerative

We aim to maximize soil health because healthy soil makes healthy food.

We do this through minimal tillage, rotational grazing, maximizing soil coverage, and building organic matter through lots of cover cropping and compost applications.

Ethical

Humane (and beyond) treatment of animals, soils, our consumers, and ourselves.

Reparations

The food system was built on the stolen land and stolen labor of people of color.

We are doing our best to support BIOPIC farming efforts financially and socially. Food donation and knowledge sharing are also important to us.
