Lettuce, Forellenschluss (Lactuca sativa)
An Austrian heirloom, Forellenschluss is an exceptionally tender Romaine. Its name translates to “speckled like a trout,” reflecting the green leaves with unique patterns of red and maroon speckles. Colors shine brightest in baby greens or the center of a full head, making for beautiful salads. Large and vigorous with good heat tolerance. We love this lettuce for both its beauty and its wonderful flavor.
